Fuel Gas Conditioning Units

Product Summary: High BTU gas can quickly damage major engine components and dramatically increase maintenance cost. A fuel conditioning unit separates and removes the propane & “heavy” hydrocarbons and provides a “lean” low BTU fuel stream. The pressure drop of the fuel gas from pipeline pressure to engine supply provides the necessary refrigeration so that no moving parts are typically required. Product Detail: SME offers a unique fuel gas conditioning system that combines all of the heat exchanger streams into one heating coil, which is a fin and tube type heat exchanger. The entire fuel gas conditioning unit and the controls are installed in a single vessel, eliminating the need for interconnecting piping. Another unique feature of this unit is the ability to handle separated cold liquids. This FGCU is beneficial in applications where space, weight and a small footprint are important, such as off-shore oil platforms.

Hg-A (LH) Mercury Removal Absorbent

Product Summary: Hg-A (LH)® is a pelleted, steam activated carbon which has been impregnated with a proprietary promoter for removal of mercury from liquid light hydrocarbon streams. (Sulfur impregnated adsorbents cannot be used with liquid hydrocarbons, since the sulfur dissolves in the hydrocarbons.) This product is available in 1.5 mm, 3 mm, and 4 mm diameter pellets, and in special particle sizes tailored for specific applications. Product packaging is available in 275 lb steel drums (on pallets of four drums per pallet, in 50 lb bags, and in 1,100 lb supersacks.

Product Detail: Hg-A (LH) is designed to remove mercury from liquid propane, butane and other liquid light hydrocarbon streams. Hg-A (LH) has proven its capacity for mercury and ability to achieve less than 1 PPB(W) mercury effluent concentrations in commercial installations. Hg-A (LH) is impregnated to a 3-5% loading. Mercury reacts with the active ingredient trapping it as an insoluble salt.

Product Detail: Hg-A is designed to remove mercury vapor from air, hydrogen, natural gas, and other gas streams. Hg-A has proven its capacity for mercury and ability to achieve less than 0.01 PPB (V) (0.01mg/Nm3) mercury vapor effluent concentrations in commercial installations.

Hg-A is sulfur impregnated to a 13-15% loading. Mercury reacts with the sulfur trapping it as mercuric sulfide.

Product Summary: Mercury Test Unit Shipped to Site for High Pressure Natural Gas.
SME Products has developed a pilot adsorber which can be used to determine the mercury content of hydrocarbon gases and or liquid water. It is our opinion that this method generates the most accurate reading of mercury concentrations because:

  1. Mercury concentrations fluctuate significantly. Instataneous measurement methods do not account for this fluctuation.
  2. This method concentrates the part per billion levels of mercury typically found into weight percent loading. These high concentrations can be more easily and accurately analyzed.
  3. Most instataneous measurement methods are sensitive to H2S, Mercaptans, water vapor, hydrocarbon liquids, and temperature.
  4. Most laboratory measurements require the gas to be let down to atmospheric pressure. High pressure gases get cold and can actually generate condensate when de-pressured.

Product Detail: The pilot unit is shipped to your site. It is pressure rated to 1,440 psi. A slipstream can be run through the pilot unit for approximately 30 days and then send it back to SME Products to determine the amount of mercury that was trapped. This amount of mercury together with the flow meter data allows us to calculate the average mercury content of the inlet stream.

Pac 1100 Granular Activated Carbon

Product Summary: PAC-1100 is a pelletized activated carbon made especially for filtration applications. Pellets offer significantly less dust and lower pressure drop than granular alternatives. Available in 1.5, 3, or 4 mm pellets. Ships in 50 pound bags, 225 lb drums, or 1,100 kg supersacks.
